Rosario Castillo, PhD
Hi, I’m Rosario Castillo, a psychologist who works with children, teens, young adults, and families. I specialize in both assessment and therapy, with a focus on supporting individuals navigating anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, depression, learning differences, and complex family dynamics. My approach is grounded in the belief that every person deserves to be understood in the context of their full story, not just a diagnosis.
I earned my PhD in School Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed my doctoral internship at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities and Calhoun Psychology. I’ve received clinical training in a variety of settings across the Triangle, including community clinics, schools, hospitals, and private practices.
I’m especially passionate about working with diverse learners and exploring how home and school environments shape their development. I care deeply about helping families strengthen the connection between what happens across settings, such as home and school, and I always aim to center cultural context and lived experience in my work.
The Triangle is home for me, and I’m excited to support families in the very community I call home. In my free time, I enjoy watching sitcoms, listening to podcasts, trying new restaurants, and traveling with my family.
In the fall of 2025, I’ll be supporting families in the community in the following ways:
Full Psychological Evaluations
Career Evaluations
Psychoeducation Efforts for Families After a Diagnosis
Bridging Students to College Program
Parent Coaching
