Luke Hughes, LMFTA
We all face moments where vulnerability and hopelessness start to creep into our lives, but we were never meant to combat them in solitude. I believe that when we are truly seen and heard, something changes. Therapy offers a safe and trusting relationship that can anchor the hope that is still present, while allowing for change and new possibilities to emerge.
Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, I cultivate a safe, trusting, warm, and nonjudgmental atmosphere within the counseling room. I believe that creating and maintaining this type of environment will result in growth and healing. Therapy should not feel like a contractual agreement, but rather a collaborative journey that includes all of these elements.
I integrate many evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), elements of the Gottman Method, and Family Systems Theory. My hope is that these tools will aid in tailoring the therapeutic process to your needs, pace, and goals.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in the state of North Carolina. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life transitions, relationship issues, grief, navigating conflict, parenting stress, and trauma recovery. Upon request, I can also integrate faith into treatment plans. I offer a free 15-minute consult to see if I would be a good fit for you. I would be honored to be part of your story.
I am currently seeing clients in the Wake Forest and North Raleigh locations.
