Autumn McGuyer, LCMHC
Whether you're navigating transitions, managing stress, or seeking personal growth, my goal is to empower you with the tools and insights to thrive. As a therapist certified in Attachment, Regulation, and Competency, I am dedicated to helping you build secure relationships, master emotional balance, and unlock your full potential. Together, we will cultivate the skills you need to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience. Let's embark on a journey to strengthen your bonds, enhance your self-regulation, and empower your growth.
I work with individuals across the lifespan—starting with children as young as three—supporting clients through a wide range of challenges including complex trauma, ADHD, autism, behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in attachment-based and psychoanalytic therapy, and I often integrate play therapy, especially when working with younger clients. I am working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist and have expertise in working with preschool-aged children and their families, using developmentally appropriate, play-based interventions to support emotional and behavioral growth.
I earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Connecticut State University, where I served as president of the counseling honor society. I’m passionate about creating a safe, trusting space where clients can feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, kayaking, visiting different beaches, and trying out new foods.
