Alison Klohonatz, LCMHCA

I am passionate about creating a space for people where compassionate, nonjudgemental acceptance and joyful welcoming become the foundation for transformation. I see welcome as gladly receiving. I am to welcome every part of you - the light and the shadows - with warmth and respect, and to invite you to do the same.

My own journey of healing began years ago while studying Community Health at Texas A&M University. In beginning my own counseling, I discovered how deeply our stories, struggles, and strengths are intertwined. After graduation, I moved overseas to Asia, where living far from home and in constant transition invited me into new lessons about resilience, crossing cultures, and the tender reality of ambiguous loss. Those years deepened my understanding of what it means to carry one’s story, both the joy and the ache, and to hold space for others doing the same.

Through these experiences, I have grown a deep compassion and an enduring hope for people. I believe wholeheartedly in the human capacity for transformation, and I got to witness this as I began to offer therapy to others while getting my Masters in Counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando.

I work with all kinds of people from all backgrounds and cultures, careful to honor your beliefs and values. I primarily work with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and spiritual issues, but am always open to having a conversation to see if I would be a good fit for your goals. Upon request, I am equipped to integrate Christian faith into counseling.

I use an integrative approach tailored to your unique needs, intentionally blending elements of Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I provide practical tools as well as help you explore the roots of your symptoms, as symptoms are an invitation to heal a deeper part of yourself.
